Hi.
I followed your guide there and it looks sturdy enough. However, I got me Ubuntu 7.10 (gutsy) and Winxp running office 2003 on a VM.
When I run the command to open the application, a terminal window opens. i.e. instead of running excel which is published in the winxp, I get a terminal window like the one you get when running Remote desktop. One thing though is that it opens like a window on ubuntu. From there I can navigate and even administer XP!
I thought Excel is supposed to launch automatically?
Hello reloded,
I have not tested the process on Ubuntu 7.10. However, I have run into the problem that you are talking about. The procedure behaved exactly as you described it when I tried it on a Windows XP Virtual Machine that was a member of an Active Directory Domain. I have not yet figured out why.
As I stated in the article. That particular use of 2X application server is not officially supported by the company. So, YMMV. I hope that you can get your problem fixed. Perhaps you can send me more details like the 2X client version and what kind of environment the Windows XP Virtual Machine is in (workgroup or domain).
Thanks for reading!
